The story how my life changed

The story how my life changed
By Junior Macias
The place where I was born and raised was El Paso, Texas. I also have family living there and in Mexico. Mexico is next to El Paso so you don’t have to drive long. To get to there from the U.S. El Paso is a big city and is most in the desert and also surrounded by mountains all around there. There are many things to do in El Paso even in Mexico, Since we live near the border of Mexico. To go across the border, It only takes 30-40 minutes to get to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. The schools are kind of strict; the reason I say this is because the school of elementary and the middle school we would have to wear uniforms, but the High School you would wear whatever we normally wear. The teachers from school of El Paso are cool; they also help you study and help you pass the class requirements.

The bad part about El Paso is that over there the temperature is so hot in the summer that people mostly don’t come out in the afternoon. We most of the time come out when the sun goes down or when it’s not too hot. In the winter it gets real cold that you sometimes don’t feel like coming out. I wear a big coat to keep you warm especially when I would wait for the bus to school and be getting cold outside. It doesn’t snow very often only once in a while. My homiez and me sometimes go out to the pool so we won’t have to be home bored. Either go to the mall to cool off and look around and buy cloths or shoes. Sometimes when my friends calls saying there’s a party at his house I go to check it out, because you meet different people everytime.

Ciudad Juarez across the border of El Paso is a dangerous place to visit if you don’t know your way around places there. If you go to a neighborhood you never been, get out because if you have like jewelry or something they like, they’ll try to take away or kill you for it. Still today in Ciudad Juarez there are people in news TV either who are killing for drugs or for something stupid. If you go there, don’t go by yourself or you might get robbed or killed for something they think is valuable.

In El Paso there are ruthless gangs that will kill you for being there on side of their neighborhood or for revenge on taking one of there homies life. I have two stepbrothers that are in a gang called Aztec. Their names are Tommy and Charley. Tommy one night came home all stabbed in the stomach saying a group of people came and stab him and he came from a few blocks dragging himself home. We ask him to go to the doctor but didn’t go he just put soma couple of rags and went to sleep in his room. Charlie saw the person that stab Tommy in the stomach, at a stoplight and shot him and his family a shotgun. Now he is serving time but is getting out soon even dough my family wasn’t happy about that.

When I moved to Athens, GA with my family, I was in the second grade when I got here. We were living in some apartments staying with some family there. The apartments were called "Kathwood Apartments." Those days that I came to Athens, GA they weren’t a lot of Hispanics living in here. Athens also back then they didn’t have any Hispanic stores, car sale, nor restaurants. I didn’t know that much English so they put me in ESOL class in elementary to learn more English, because I didn’t know too much when I came to Athens, GA.
The things I miss about El Paso is that I have more family over there then I do here and I get to go to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico to buy thing since it is more cheaper value then united states money. Since I also got family living close by Texas, I could visit them more often then I do now. Over here I don’t have any families to visit, so I have to make friends. In school over in Texas is better because the teachers help you with tutoring and help you get the assignments done.

puritanism

1. The puritans believed that with the fall of Adam and eve, which everybody is born with sin. Second the puritans believed that god saves those he wishes and that only a few were chosen for salvation. Third they believed Jesus didn’t died for his people only for the chosen one. Fourth in god's grace was freely given and you couldn’t earn it or deny it. Those who were chosen by god had full power to translate the words of god, and live strictly and he who dismiss his grace after being shown of his power in his life would be going against god' will. I think that in those days of what the puritans believed is strict because probably you couldn’t make a mistake or they would hang you or kill you.

2. The puritans wished to form worshiping god and organizing a church as so said in the book of the New Testament. They were also called nonconformist or dissenters because they refuse to state church's beliefs and practice. The puritans were threatening by England’s new religion so they left. In 1620 about a thousand puritans set sail for the New World hoping to build a new society in god's name. Jonathan Edwards one of the first most famous person who introduced of the sermon. In 18th century New England the sermon was printed and copied to be introduced worldwide.

Being brought in a good ship that brought them to the new land safely, they fell on their knees and thank the lord for getting them safely. After the trip they were amazed of the people look when the trip was over. When they got there they had no friends to welcome them or entertainment nor to clean themselves with. There were no house or towns neither to repair nor to find any success. The puritans are afraid that they might get kill by the natives as a story in the bible was a story similar to what they think and the winter of that country hard for them which they did not have any to shelter in. in the summer their faces were damaged do to the weather. Even knowing they could get back on the boat they decided to stay and built their colony even knowing that winter was coming. Some puritans wanted to go back home but the elder reminded them how their lives were back in their homeland, so they decided to stay.

On the 11th of November, the ship needed repair and will they were repairing they ship someone saw a river and instead of fixing the ship they decided to go further down the river. On the 15 of November the puritans keep going to the river and spotted six natives with a dog coming towards them, but ran back into the woods. The puritans followed them to see if they could speak with them or to see if it’s a trap. The Indians seeing that they were being followed ran faster, but still were being followed by their tracks hoping to find the natives homes, but lost both the Indians and puritans. Needing of something to drink they found a lake which they drunk out of as being the first to drink in the new land.

As the puritans got settled, they were being the first foundation in their government in that place. The puritans made a document that uses their own liberty, no one had power over them and after they chose. They confirmed it with Mr. John carver the one who is going to govern for that year. From then on they started to build their own homes and store things they needed to build, but some of the people were complaining about some things and were starting riot till the governor came to calm them down.

All the Indians would sometimes stealing the puritans tools will they were gone for dinner, but on the 16th of march, one of the Indians came with five more Indians and spoke to the puritans. The name of the Indian was called Samoset and was the chief of the Indian tribe. The puritans and the Indians made a treaty. Neither would harm each other, if any hurt one another that they should send back the offender to be punish, anybody steal some they should put it back, if any did war against them, they should aid them. All these words were put in the treaty so no one would get hurt. The Indians showed the puritans how to set corn, where to fish, take them to unknown places they haven’t been.

3. Irresistible Grace - God's grace is freely given, it cannot be earned or denied. Grace is defined as the saving and transfiguring power of God.
All the means that there are of sinners going out of the world, are so in God's hands, and so universally and absolutely subject to his power and determination, that it does not depend at all the less on the mere will of God, whether sinners shall at any moment go to hell, than if means were never made use of, or at all concerned in the case
Unconditional Election - God "saves" those he wishes - only a few are selected for salvation.God has so many different unsearchable ways of taking wicked men out of the world and sending them to hell, that there is nothing to make it appear, that God had need to be at the expense of a miracle, or go out of the ordinary course of his providence, to destroy any wicked man, at any moment.

4. 1. Idealism - both religious and political.
2. Pragmaticism - practicality and purposiveness.

The Protestant against ornateness was reverence for the Bible. The Puritans writing reflected the character and the scope of the reading public in, which was literate and well grounded in religion.
